  • "We loved the cottage and everything about the cottage, except that we had water issues."

    The management was great to try to help us but we had to deal with the one shower not working properly. The ensuite shower had very little water pressure and so it was hard to shower. The other bathroom had issues with the hot water not working properly and then they fixed part of it but it was too hot or too cold. Neither of the bathrooms had very good water pressure so showering was the only issue we had. The staff was amazing. The apartment was clean and comfortable. We loved the place other than the water issues.

It was most unfortunate that you had an issue with the water pressure and shower while you stayed with us, as we had never had a problem previously. As our property maintenance manager was unable to rectify after we called him out, we did source a new shower which was fitted by an electrician and plumber. This issue has now been resolved and we apologise for the inconvenience encountered during your stay.   • "We had a really relaxing and comfortable stay at the Garden Apartment."

    Lovely comfortable beds and bedding, towels, well equipped kitchen (only negative the kitchen scissors!!). A few suggestions would be if there had been four of us the seating in lounge might be a bit cosy and maybe some milk wouldn’t be a bad idea as we had travelled all day and then had to find a shop. We would definitely stay again as it is perfect for touring the North Yorkshire coast and the moors.

  • "There was nothing lacking at the Garden Apartment."

    It is immaculate in every way; the views onto lawns and gardens is very pleasant. Bunnies and pheasants were a common occurrence. The welcome tray was appreciated after a long journey. We enjoyed our visits to the nearest village of Stokesley but parking is difficult to find. Our favourite memory will be the day we hiked up to Capt. Cook's Monument...such glorious North Yorkshire scenery at the top!

    Thank you for a wonderful week feeling relaxed and rested in the beautiful grounds of Rudby Hall. The private garden with comfy garden sofa’s to relax while the children played was just lovely. The apartment is rather large and it was perfect for us as a family as it provided plenty of space. We had a great week visiting places nearby and also the seaside.   • "We loved this property and had our best holiday in a long time here."

    The apartment itself was spotlessly clean and had plenty of space for our family of four. We loved the high ceilings, shuttered windows and uncluttered and modern décor. The views from the windows looking out over the grounds of Rudby Hall were so restful. It was a pleasure to be free to potter around the grounds and so enjoyable to stay in such beautiful surroundings. We very much enjoyed being shown around Rudby Hall by Neil. The apartment’s garden is completely private and we spent a couple of evenings in it just soaking up the peace. We went to Yarm, Stokesley, Whitby, Staithes and Saltburn-by-the-sea. We also visited a couple of National Trust properties, Ormesby Hall and Fountains Abbey, both of which are within easy reach. The property is perfectly placed for lots of lovely days out. We felt very relaxed in this wonderful place. We could not have wished for warmer, friendlier or more helpful hosts. Thank you very much Neil and family.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at the Garden apartment."

    The apartment was very clean, spacious and well equipped. The garden was lovely accessed via the flight of private stairs at the entrance to the apartment. For us (a couple) the location was perfect. We spent most days walking both locally and a little further afield on the coast. We also enjoyed visiting Whitby and various National Trust properties. Our hosts Neil and Pam were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming and we would like to thank them very much for facilitating such a peaceful and enjoyable holiday.

  • "Immaculately clean, Very comfortable, Well equipped and peaceful - what more could you want?"

    A great apartment. The hosts, Neil and Pam were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They were available if needed but left us in peace. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable place. High quality bedding and towels, powerful double shower cubicle in the en-suite to the enormous stately main bedroom. The private garden with new furniture and cushions was lovely and it was so nice to stroll in the well maintained grounds of the hall. An ideal location for holidaying in North Yorkshire, nearby Stokesley had all the amenities you might need and the coast at Whitby was not too far away. Thank you - we will return! Resting in the picturesque countryside of Skutterskelfe, North Yorkshire, is The Garden Apartment, a well-presented first-floor apartment formerly part of Rudby Hall.

The Garden Apartment was refurbished in Spring 2021 and has been decorated throughout with a new fully fitted kitchen, perfect for couples or a family.

The Garden Apartment is available as additional accommodation for guests staying at Rudby Hall or as separate self-contained accommodation.

All rooms are located on the first floor, accessed by stairs from the entrance hall.

The property consists of a lounge with a 50" Smart TV you can look forward to cosying up in front of after a long day of exploring the local area, as well as a fully fitted kitchen/diner home to all the appliances you need to assist with your self-catering requirements.

The fully equipped kitchen/diner includes an electric oven and hob, an integral dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer.

Rudby Hall Estate

The magnificent Rudby Hall Estate rests in the idyllic countryside of Skutterskelfe in between Stokesley and Hutton Rudby, North Yorkshire. The Grade II listed Georgian mansion was built in 1838 for the daughter of King William IV, and the properties have now been converted into elegant self-contained accommodations perfect for large groups and celebrations. Middlesborough 12.5 miles; Thirsk 16 miles; Whitby 35 miles

A pretty village on the northwest fringes of the North York Moors National Park. Hutton Rudby plays host to a convenience store, a Post Office and a choice of pubs, some of which serve food. Hutton Rudby is 6 miles from the market town of Yarm and 4 mile from Stokesley, both which are good for food, drink and independent shops. Close by, keen walkers and cyclists can explore the scenic North York Moors, or enjoy a spot of shopping in the large post-industrial town of Middlesborough, a place bursting with excellent eateries, shops and pubs. A trip south with bring you to the stunning market town of Thirsk, lined with attractive buildings and hosting a popular racecourse.
